Ballroom dance is a variety of social dances performed by couples. It is a respectful activity in which young men and women learn how to socially interact with one another. Students will learn etiquette in class while learning several styles of ballroom. American and International style waltz, cha-cha, tango, merengue, foxtrot, triple swing, east and west coast swing, Lindy hop, Viennese waltz, samba, and rumba will be some of the styles taught in class.
Ballroom 1 – This is a beginner level ballroom class for students who have never taken a ballroom class. Students 7th grade and up are welcome. Students will learn basic technique, footwork, and framework.
Ballroom 2 – This is an intermediate/advanced level ballroom class. This level is designed for those students who have had at least two years experience in a ballroom class, 9th grade and up. More advanced technique will be taught in this class, along with lifts and dips. Class placement will be determined by the teacher.
